About Mike Reynolds

Mike Reynolds

Hey, I’m Mike.

I’ve been 3D printing since 2019 — started with a cheap Ender 3 that I spent more time fixing than printing with. Six printers later, I’ve learned that most 3D printing problems come down to the same handful of issues, and most of the advice online either overcomplicates things or is flat-out wrong.

NozzleNerd is where I write down what actually works. No affiliate-bait listicles, no “top 10 best printers” that change every month. Just troubleshooting guides, filament comparisons, and the kind of tips I wish someone had told me when I was scraping failed prints off my bed at 2 AM.

My Printing Setup

Right now I’m running a Bambu Lab X1C as my daily driver — it’s the first printer I’ve owned that I don’t constantly want to throw out a window. I’ve also got a modded Ender 3 V2 with a Sprite extruder that I use for testing weird filaments, and a Prusa MK4 that handles the long overnight prints.

I print mostly functional parts — brackets, enclosures, jigs for the workshop. Occasionally I’ll do something decorative, but let’s be honest, I’m not winning any design awards.

Why This Site Exists

I got tired of Googling “3D printer stringing fix” and landing on articles clearly written by people who’ve never touched a printer. You know the ones — they list every possible cause without telling you which one to check first, or they recommend settings that would destroy your hotend.

Every guide on NozzleNerd comes from my actual experience. If I haven’t tested it myself, I’ll say so. If something doesn’t work on my machines, I won’t recommend it on yours.
